One Partner Throughout the System Lifecycle

Working-at-height requirements do not end when a product is supplied or an installation is completed. Buildings change, systems are exposed to use and weather, and the people responsible for a facility may change over time. Documentation, inspection and maintenance therefore matter throughout the system’s operational life. Select Access connects each stage through one specialist team, helping clients move from an initial access problem to a designed and installed solution—and then supporting the continued inspection, certification and maintenance of that infrastructure.

Begin with the People, Task and Building

The right solution begins with understanding who needs access, where they need to go and what work they will undertake. Our team reviews the access route, frequency of use, principal hazards, building conditions and any existing protection before recommending the appropriate next step. We can support early project planning, review an existing building or help a facilities team respond when a contractor identifies an unsafe or unclear access arrangement. You do not need to arrive with a technical specification. Describe the requirement and we will help define it.

Practical Systems Coordinated with the Building

Our in-house technical team develops height-safety and access solutions that reflect the building, intended use and wider project requirements. Early coordination helps identify structural, architectural and operational constraints before they become installation problems. We work with clients, design teams, contractors and specialist partners to review layouts, system interfaces and access routes. Where project conditions change, direct access to technical support enables decisions and drawing updates to be progressed efficiently. The result is a solution developed for the real environment in which it will be installed and used.

Delivered Safely, Professionally and with Clear Accountability

Select Access installs permanent working-at-height and access infrastructure on construction projects and operational facilities throughout Ireland. Our installation teams work with technical, project and client representatives to coordinate access, materials, interfaces and site requirements before work begins. During delivery, we address site conditions, communicate changes and maintain the records required for handover. From an individual fixed ladder or guardrail arrangement to multi-system rooftop and façade-access packages, clients have one accountable specialist partner responsible for progressing the installation from mobilisation through completion.

Protect the System After Handover

Installed infrastructure must remain safe, serviceable and appropriately documented throughout its working life. Exposure, wear, damage, building alterations and changes in use can affect the condition or suitability of a system. Our Testing Division inspects working-at-height and access infrastructure throughout Ireland, documenting the condition found and providing certification for systems that meet the applicable requirements. Where defects or concerns are identified, clients receive clear information on what was found and the next action required. This gives facilities and property teams a structured route for managing continued system safety.

Do you know when your system was last inspected?

The presence of a ladder, guardrail, cable or anchor does not by itself confirm that it remains safe to use. If inspection records cannot be found, the last inspection date is unclear or the building has changed since installation, the system should be reviewed before it is relied upon. Inspection requirements vary according to the equipment, intended use, environmental exposure, manufacturer guidance and applicable technical requirements. Select Access can help identify the infrastructure present, review available information and establish the appropriate testing route.

Managing multiple buildings or locations?

Facilities-management providers, property managers and organisations with multiple sites may be responsible for systems installed at different times, by different contractors and across several types of building. Records, inspection dates and access arrangements can quickly become fragmented. Select Access can support a more structured approach by coordinating inspection activity, documenting findings and helping clients maintain clearer certification records across their portfolio. This is particularly valuable where a central facilities or health-and-safety team needs consistent visibility across numerous properties, contractors and renewal dates.

New Projects and Existing Buildings

Select Access supports clients at different points in the building lifecycle. For new projects, we work with main contractors, roofing contractors, architects and design teams to coordinate access and protection before construction is complete. For occupied buildings, we support facilities managers, property managers, maintenance teams and end users responsible for safe access and continued compliance. Our experience extends across commercial property, residential developments, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, education, retail, pharmaceuticals, public-sector estates, transport infrastructure, data centres, ports and airports.

Turning Installation into a Long-Term Service

A completed installation should create the beginning of a managed safety relationship, not the end of one. By retaining clear system information, handover records and inspection requirements, clients can manage future access more confidently and reduce the risk of systems being forgotten after project completion. Select Access can support the transition from installation to continued testing and maintenance, helping project teams hand over usable information and enabling facilities teams to understand what has been installed, when it should be reviewed and who to contact when support is required.

Not Sure Where to Begin?

You do not need to identify the system before contacting us. Tell us about the building, who needs access and what they need to do. If infrastructure is already present, photographs, previous reports and inspection records can help us understand the starting point. If the requirement relates to a new project, drawings and design information will help our technical team review it. We will then advise whether the appropriate next step is a consultation, site survey, technical proposal, installation quotation or inspection of an existing system.
